Ster-Kinekor Joins Forces with Nokia and MTN to Entertain the Kids with RIO 2

WITH THE WORLDWIDE RELEASE OF RIO 2, STER-KINEKOR JOINS FORCES WITH NOKIA AND MTN TO ENTERTAIN THE KIDS

“It’s on in the Amazon…”

With the imminent launch of Rio 2 at a cinema near you, Ster-Kinekor, Nokia and MTN are getting ready to paint the town in a rainbow of colours. In order to get the job done, the country’s leading cinema chain has selected some of its cinemas to make the release of the movie even more fun for the children. The animated movie, Rio 2, which also releases in 3D at select sites, will be exploding onto Ster-Kinekor screens on Friday, 11 April to coincide with the film’s worldwide release date.

To get yourself in the mood for the delightful sequel to the popular Rio, get down to one of the participating Ster-Kinekor cinemas and get busy with all the fun and games at hand. There will be wonderful prizes on offer from Nokia, MTN and Ster-Kinekor and interactive activities including having your photo taken with the Glam-Cam, making your own ‘Blu’ and ‘Jewel’ feathered friends, activity sheets to colour in and fun games to play.

The cinema activations take place on Saturday, 12 April and Sunday, 13 April from 11:00 to 16:00 at the following Ster-Kinekor cinemas: The Grove in Pretoria, Sandton, Cresta and Eastgate in Johannesburg, Gateway in Durban, Somerset Mall in Somerset, and Blue Route, Bayside and Cavendish in Cape Town. Get there early, participate in the fun and then book your tickets to watch Rio 2.

In Rio 2, Blu (voice of Jesse Eisenberg) and his family take flight for the Amazon when his wife, Jewel (voice of Anne Hathaway), decides their children should explore the world. With an overprotective father who grows increasingly concerned that his family will leave him once they've experienced life in the wild, it a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three kids. From the chaos of city life in Rio de Janeiro to a very different chaos in the wilds of the Amazon Jungle, Blu tries to fit in. He goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful Nigel, and then meets the most fearsome adversary of all: his father-in-law.

Together with Jesse Eisenberg, Tracy Morgan, Jamie Foxx, Will.I.Am, George Lopez and Leslie Mann reprise their roles in this sequel from director Carlos Saldanha and producers John C. Donkin and Bruce Anderson – the creative trio behind the original 2011 hit.
